What got you into this business?

Working with people has always been a passion of mine and, in college, majoring in Public Relations was a natural fit for me. Having the opportunity to tell stories, work to accomplish a goal and share information about clients is what initially stood out to me and I haven’t looked back. I love having the opportunity to think creatively and strategically, simultaneously, which is not something other professions necessarily get to do every day!

What’s your favorite travel destination?

Hawaii is the absolute most spectacular place I have visited so far. I traveled to Maui and got to spend time on the Road to Hana, went deep sea fishing in the Pacific and enjoyed the local cuisine. There was something beautiful to see everywhere you turn, whether it is a waterfall, a cliff overlooking the deep blue water or the Rainbow Eucalyptus trees native to the island. There is a reason people talk about Hawaiian sunsets years after they’ve seen one; it’s something that never leaves you.

What is your method for coming up with ideas and solutions for clients?

I am a big proponent of collaborative thinking and believe in working as a team to come up with ideas that effectively meet the client’s needs. I really enjoy taking time to brainstorm and then develop a list of action items based on the ideas generated through the meeting. I make a point to take time to listen to the client’s thoughts and needs to develop a plan they are not only happy with but excited about.

Where did you grow up and what was it like?

I was lucky enough to grow up in the beautiful city of Asheville, North Carolina. As a cross country runner, most of my time was spent outside, particularly on the Blue Ridge Parkway. My family and I spent a lot of time together and enjoyed exploring the many hiking destinations or taking a weekend trip to the lake for waterskiing, tubing and spending time in the sun.

What do you do for fun outside of the office?

My husband and I love to spend time outdoors with our rescue pup. When we aren’t riding our bikes or going for a run, we are often found touring museums or cooking our way through our favorite cookbooks. I am an avid reader and have been dubbed by many of my friends as a “bookworm.”
