Favorite part about the Gulf South?

As a Mississippi Gulf Coast native, I’ve always felt a strong sense of community and tradition that I believe is unique to the Gulf South area. From Mardi Gras festivities to summertime seafood boils to boat days on the water, Gulf South residents enjoy nothing more than gathering with friends and family and having a great time – and there’s ALWAYS food involved. Your mom knows someone who knows someone who knows somebody else (so you better be careful what you say and do!), and if you need help, neighbors and strangers alike are more than willing to lend a hand.

What is something you’re really proud of?

While in college, I wrote and defended an undergraduate thesis to fulfill the graduation requirements of Ole Miss’s honors college. My thesis explored two real-life crisis scenarios involving Johnson & Johnson, the 1982 Tylenol murders and the ongoing talcum powder litigation crisis, and compared the crisis communication tactics Johnson & Johnson leadership implemented in each scenario. I analyzed tactics through the perspective of the CERC (Crisis and Emergency Risk Communication) framework and principles and used secondary research methods, including case study reviews, interviews and the think-aloud protocol, to answer the thesis’s research questions. All in all, my thesis took two years to complete and was 117 pages long, and I’m super proud of the work and effort I put into finishing it!

What’s your favorite sports team?

I am a Saints loyalist and have been since birth. I’ve yet to make it to the Dome for a game, but I’m planning on doing so next season now that I live in New Orleans! Since I went to Ole Miss, I’m also a Rebels fan and enjoyed going to football and basketball games while I was in school. Hotty Toddy & Who Dat forever!

What’s your favorite travel destination?

I recently discovered a love for travelling – I haven’t been anywhere abroad (yet), but I have several favorite destinations here in the U.S.! I’ve been to St. Augustine, Florida twice, and I think the historic Spanish-influenced architecture in the downtown area is so pretty and goes perfectly with the white-sand beaches. I also really like the Cape Cod area in Massachusetts – I went in May, which is right at the start of New England lobster season, and I had the best lobster roll ever. Finally, I always love visiting New York City – I’ve been seven times now, and each time is somehow better than the last! The food scene, entertainment options and cultural opportunities cannot be beat.

What do you like to do outside of the office?

I am a hobby photographer and enjoy portrait, nature and street photography the most. I’ve also been lifting weights for 5+ years and love to get to the gym when I can. In the past, I danced for 10+ years but haven’t been in the studio in a while – I’d love to start back again, though, and am planning on doing so here in New Orleans. Lastly, I always have my Spotify playlists on and love to listen to a wide variety of music genres!
