Favorite part about the Gulf South (what stands out to you)?
What I love most about the Gulf South is its incredible mix of history, hospitality, cuisine, culture, community, and natural beauty. Growing up in New Orleans, I’ve always been surrounded by rich traditions and stunning architecture that tell stories of our heritage. The hospitality here is unmatched—people are warm, welcoming, and always ready to lend a hand. The food is unforgettable, with spicy Cajun and Creole dishes along with fresh Gulf seafood making every meal a true delight. The music is the heartbeat of our culture and makes every day feel like a festival. No matter where I travel, the natural beauty of our region never fails to amaze me. The sense of community here is something truly special. Whether it’s friends, family, or even strangers, there’s a deep sense of connection and support that makes you feel at home wherever you go. The Gulf South is a place like no other.
What got you into this business?
My journey into PR began with the guidance and encouragement of my freshman year roommate. Although I only had a little knowledge of public relations prior to college, my roommate was the one who truly introduced me to the world of PR. She shared her passion for the field, which sparked my initial interest. However, it was my first communications class that truly solidified my career path. This class introduced me to the fundamentals of PR writing which I knew nothing about. My professor was incredibly passionate about PR and brought the subject to life, challenging me with new tasks and questions each time we met. His enthusiasm for PR and his students was so refreshing and something I had yet to experience in my college career. His work ethic made me realize the power of strategic communication in shaping perspectives and building connections. Luckily for me, I was able to take his final class at LSU during my last semester, where I was still challenged but rewarded by the fact that I was about to begin a life working in a field that I am so passionate about.
Favorite travel destination?
My favorite travel destination is Thailand! I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad there for nearly a month during the summer before my junior year at LSU, alongside three of my best friends. Thailand offered a unique blend of rich history, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality that made a lasting impression on me. From exploring the markets in Bangkok to the serene beauty of Chang Mai’s temples and the breathtaking beaches down south, each moment was an eye-opening discovery. The Thai people’s friendliness and cultural traditions I witnessed, like the intricate art of Thai cooking, deeply enhanced my perspective of a world outside of New Orleans. I am forever grateful for my time spent in Thailand and will be taking a trip back!
What was college like for you?
Attending LSU was a transformative and exciting experience for me. I absolutely loved being part of the LSU community. There was a sense of belonging which was a key element in making my time there so memorable. Majoring in PR was a particularly rewarding choice. LSU’s Public Relations program provided me with invaluable opportunities to develop both my professional skills and personal confidence. Through engaging coursework, hands-on projects, and my internship here at TEG, I was able to apply my knowledge in real-world settings, which was both challenging and fulfilling. Most importantly, the LSU Manship School helped me gain greater self-assurance. Participating in various campus organizations and networking events pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and develop strong communication and leadership skills. The dynamic environment encouraged me to take initiative, think creatively, and collaborate effectively with others. I wouldn’t change a thing about my time at LSU, Go Tigers!
