The people, culture, and sense of community in the Gulf South are unmatched in other parts of the country. From festivals in cities like New Orleans to relaxing on the beaches in 30A, life in the Gulf South is always exciting and never boring.
Where did you grow up and what was it like?
I grew up in Chattanooga, TN. Chattanooga is a beautiful city on the Tennessee River with mountains on either side. My childhood in the suburbs was quiet, picturesque, and filled with lots of outdoorsy activities from camping to hiking to white water rafting. Although Chattanooga is lovely, I knew I wanted to move to a bigger city for college. I chose Tulane, because it had a traditional college campus feel in the middle of a larger city. I never thought I would stay in New Orleans, but here I am fifteen years later. When New Orleans gets ahold of you, it is a hard place to leave!
What’s your favorite travel destination?
I love traveling, and if I could, I would travel to a new place every other week. My favorite country to visit is Spain. I spent my entire junior year abroad in Madrid and had the time of my life. Spain is such a culturally rich country with delicious food, friendly people, and beautiful scenery. I highly recommend visiting Madrid – or literally any city in Spain – if ever given the chance!
If you weren’t in PR, what would you be doing?
In another life, I would have loved to be a travel blogger or interior designer.
