The Ehrhardt Group Honored at the Press Club of New Orleans’ 64th Annual Excellence in Journalism Awards

On July 30, 2022, The Ehrhardt Group was recognized by the Press Club of New Orleans for three campaigns in 2021 that demonstrated our mission to consistently perform at our highest levels. Anything else is not us.

“Rarely do time and fresh air solve problems. Understanding the challenges and understanding how to engage with the people of the Gulf South at the right time and with the right message do,” said Marc Ehrhardt, president of The Ehrhardt Group. “These awards prove that listening to our clients, understanding their goals and acting wisely and strategically lead to success.”

Through The Ehrhardt Group’s (TEG) ongoing work with ExxonMobil Baton Rouge, the firm assisted ExxonMobil and the Capitol Park Museum (CPM) staff with promoting the launch of ‘The Green Book’ Smithsonian exhibit in Baton Rouge. The traveling exhibit, which took place in Baton Rouge from Aug. 21, 2021 – Nov. 14, 2021, was sponsored by ExxonMobil Corporate, as part of its historical connection with Esso Gas Stations, a key contributor to ‘The Green Book’ guides.

Esso Standard Oil, now ExxonMobil, was a leader in offering opportunities to Black Americans during Jim Crow, and in 1934, the company hired James A. Jackson as a special representative to research the role and impact of the Black consumer in America. As one of the largest companies in the world at that time, Victor Green, founder of ‘The Green Book,’ devised a plan with Jackson to distribute ‘The Green Book’ guide in Esso stations across the country. During this period, Esso stations were one of the only gas stations who served African Americans.

To help highlight ExxonMobil’s role in this pivotal part of Black History, as well as the company’s commitment to fostering diversity and investing in communities of color today, TEG assisted in developing and implementing a statewide media program to promote the launch of ‘The Green Book’ Exhibit in Baton Rouge.

The Louisiana Nursing Home Association (LNHA) is a nonprofit organization representing and advocating on behalf of more than 250 nursing facilities and assisted living communities that care for approximately 25,000 elderly and disabled individuals each day. Since 2017, The Ehrhardt Group has partnered with LNHA to combat misinformation about the profession and increase awareness across Louisiana of the high-quality, 24/7 care provided in Louisiana’s nursing facilities. The Ehrhardt Group has been instrumental in highlighting the importance of nursing facilities in the continuum of care.

The COVID-19 pandemic ravaged nursing facilities across the country. Once the vaccine became available for nursing facility residents and staff, our team worked closely with LNHA to craft messaging recognizing Louisiana officials for quickly facilitating vaccine availability in nursing facilities. As one of the most vulnerable populations throughout the global health crisis, it was critical that nursing facility residents and staff have access to the vaccine as soon as possible.

In April 2021, The Ehrhardt Group launched a statewide print and digital campaign promoting awareness for and recognition to Louisiana’s state and federal officials for prioritizing nursing facility residents and staff to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. We coordinated and oversaw the production from concept to completion of print and digital creative and negotiated media placements to maximize reach and awareness statewide.
